Mark has over 25 years’ experience in fisheries management, working across the UK at both technical and management levels. He joined the Atlantic Salmon Trust in spring 2018 to head up the organisation and deliver the conservation programmes to protect and restore salmon and sea trout populations in the UK. Prior to joining the AST Mark was the River Director for the Aberdeenshire Dee for thirteen years. Originally a salmon focused fisheries scientist working in the north west of England and then for ten years in the Outer Hebrides, he lives with his family in rural Aberdeenshire and plays an active role in the community.
